That is exactly what Iam searching for since weeks! Very good offline Worldmap!

It is in english, but there are no better alternatives. A German Version would be nice, especially for the kids, when they use it for school. I use it on the iPhone and iPad during my journeys around the world and it is perfect for the quick and offline overview. Thank You for the easy to use App.

I have been using the iPad version of this app for a long time and am so glad its FINALLY available on the iPhone. Thanks guys! Its pretty much the same great atlas Im used to on the iPad, except they added a second map of the world to use, which is a nice touch. For those of you who have never used the iPad version, The World HD is probably the only atlas with built-in country maps, which makes it ideal for traveling. I use it a lot both at work and at home. Any time I need to locate a country, I reach for it. Highly recommended!

This is a wonderful app, beautifully crafted, fun to use, and quite useful! If you are looking for an atlas, you cannot go wrong with this one.

Excellent almanac! Full of socio-geopolitical info at your finger tips. Perfect choice when you dont have an Internet connection. Great to have the option of a political or an elevation map too. Worth twice what you are paying for.

Far better resolution and detail than the NGS world atlas app. And all the data resides on your phone. Recommended.

Being a ham radio operator, I communicate with other hams all over the world. This app allows me to get an idea of where they are located in their homeland. Then I can comment on their location and ask questions to give them an idea that I want to learn more about their country.

Wonderful!! Took some time leaning to use it. Now find myself turning to it frequently throughout my reading. Amazing tool for study and pleasure. JB

If you want an offline world atlas and factbook this is a great option. Intuitive with appropriate level of detail. Only reason for 4 stars not 5 is that the map can take some time to load.

Finally a great set of maps for my iphone! I dont know how many "maps" I tried before finally finding this one on the Apple Whats Hot list, but it must be a dozen. The search is over! My favorite thing about it is the maps are a cartographers dream. They are outstanding, really in a class of their own, and look much better than the app store images. I also agree with the other reviewers that it is enjoyable to use and informative as well.

I couldnt decide between this app and the Natl Geographic app. In the end, I wound up getting both. Each has its own niche and they compliment each other. I probably use this app the most, however. Its maps are more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Works great, but a little slow to load.

I tried many, but this is the best; the maps are better than the others, and the fact book is worth the little bit extra. I hung on to the National Geographic app too because its zoomable to street level, but if I had to choose, it would be this one.

Ive been enjoy browsing the world with great vector-based maps. As others have said, sometimes it lags or stalls while rendering maps. The font used is also distractingly bizarre and Id encourage them to switch to something more conventional. Lastly, the cylindrical map projection used for the overview grossly distorts features as they approach the poles, so something else there would be appreciated.

This apps independence from Internet or phone connection makes it very useful for travel outside ones cell phone rate plan, where big roaming charges would otherwise make it impractical. Do wish it could provide more detail via enhanced zoom capacity. Great for quickly revealing the geography of international events.
